The historical city of Antalya, which was established thousands of years ago, has always been important because of its strategic location and being a busy trading point, various fortifications and arbitration points have been built for the protection of the city. In this context, Antaliiskaya Fortress, built thousands of years ago in the ancient Roman period to ensure the safety of the city, is one of the oldest architectural structures of the city as a historical castle that has survived to the present day. The Byzantine Empire started in 395 BC, after the 7th century Arab raids and the conquest of Byzantium again passed into the hands of. The city remained within the Ottoman Empire in the following centuries and has survived to the present day. Apart from this, it is known that the first construction of the castle was built on the ruins of the Hellenistic period. Antaliiskaya Fortress is a witness to history, as it has been repaired countless times and has defied centuries with its importance at all times. The stone blocks and thickness of the castle surrounded by towers indicate that the structure was extremely strong. The parts of Antaliiskaya fortress that have survived to the present day, including some bastions, Hıdırlık Tower, the perfectly preserved Hadrian gate, and The Clock Tower, which was given a new function in Ottoman times, retain its splendor.
