Ancient City of Olympos

The ancient city of Olympos, located in Kumluca district in the western part of Antalya, is one of the most important port cities of this region. An extension of the Taurus Mountains, 2 thousand 375 meters high Tahtali Mountain named after the ancient city can easily be reached by those who come from Fenike use Adrasan Entrance, and by those who come from Kemer direction can use Olympos entrance. It is located within the boundaries of the Beydağları-Olympos National Park, which is home to many buildings belonging to Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods. Among the remains unearthed from the ancient city of Olympos, the most interesting is Captain Eudomus' Sarcophagus, which is exhibited in the Antalya Museum. The ancient city of Olympos, which is open to visitors every day, between the dates of 15 April-2 October at 08:30-19:00 and in the period between 3 October-14th April between the hours of 08:30-17:30 welcomes its visitors. The temple gate, located about 150 meters west of the river mouth, and the small theatre belonging to the Hellenistic period on the south side are definitely worth seeing.
