Side Amphitheatre

Side Amphitheatre, which is one of the most valuable buildings in Antalya province for cultural tourism, is located within the borders of Side district, which it named after. The building in the centre of Side, a historical region, is the only example of Roman-type theatres in Anatolia. When the details are examined, it is seen that it is on a slope from the seating rows to the road in the middle of the steps, and that its upper section is also positioned according to a slope created. The stage building, which is the only one in the region with its mentioned feature, features a three-storey and a frieze of Dionysus in the form of stone reliefs on the first floor. Side Amphitheatre, with its statues and various decorations, has survived to the present day even thousands of years later as a magnificent structure. In addition, walking around the seating areas, examining the sculptures and decorations closely, is one of the sine qua non of the cultural trip towards the ancient theatre. Also known for its colorful activities, Side Amphitheater hosts jazz concerts, classical music performances and many other events, especially during the summer period.
