29.06.2024 21:42
Suna Inan Kıraç Kaleiçi Museum, opened in Antalya in 1996 with the focus of exhibiting works focused on Turkish culture, is one of the most prominent points of the city. The museum, which is based on the restoration of two historical buildings, one of which is a traditional Antalya House and the other is Aya Yorgi Church, in the Kaleiçi region, to serve for cultural tourism purposes, also attracts attention with its large collection.
The museum, opened by Koç Holding's Deputy Chairman and Vehbi Koç's daughter Suna Kıraç and her wife, businessman Inan Kıraç, features various elements of Turkish folk culture in an instructive style. The two-story Antalya House contains several scenes featuring real-size human figures in reference to Turkish culture. In general, the old Anatolian life forms the theme in this section.
In the building of Aya Yorgi Church, which is a monumental cultural asset, a large number of Canakkale ceramics are exhibited. Time flows like water inside, accompanied by a visual feast in the elegant museum area, which draws attention with its lighting and is organized with a modern understanding.
The museum, which also hosts exhibitions, can be experienced from 09:00 to 18:00 every day except Monday and the first day of religious holidays with a fairly modest admission fee.
