One of Barcelona's most iconic buildings, the Sagrada Família represents the pinnacle of Antoni Gaudí's modernist architecture. Founded in 1882, this impressive basilica continued to be built even after Gaudí's death and is still in the process of completion today. It is considered one of the most important monuments not only in Barcelona but also in world architecture.

When construction of the Sagrada Família began, Gaudí's original design was revolutionary, combining elements of Gothic and Art Nouveau. Gaudí took charge of the project in 1883 and dedicated the rest of his life to the construction of this church. The design of the building is inspired by natural forms and geometric shapes. The exterior of the church is adorned with sculptures that tell the stories from the birth to the death of Jesus. The interior is a riot of light and color, with columns reaching to the sky and colorful stained glass windows.

One of the most striking features of the building is its towers of various heights. Each tower represents a different biblical figure, giving depth to Gaudí's religious imagery. The design of the interior reflects the influence of natural forms and organic structures. Gaudí's love of nature is evident in every detail of the church.

Gaudí's unexpected death in 1926 made the completion of the Sagrada Família even more difficult. After his death, the construction, which was continued by various architects, suffered setbacks due to the Spanish Civil War and various financial difficulties. Nevertheless, this impressive structure remains a work of art that is still under construction today. Added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Sagrada Família welcomes millions of tourists every year and remains part of world heritage as a symbol of Gaudí's creative genius and vision.

The Sagrada Família is not just a church, but an ever-evolving work of art and an architectural miracle. Gaudí's work has gone down in history as one of the most precious treasures of Barcelona and world architecture. It offers visitors not only an aesthetic experience, but also a source of inspiration that pushes the boundaries of the human spirit and creativity.
