Bursa Zoo

The zoo in Bursa has been in service since 1998. The renovated and modernized zoo is teeming with botanical park.

When you come to Bursa Zoo, you can encounter 500 animals from 55 species. As it is known, Bursa's previous zoo was in a very poor and unhealthy state. During a school trip, one of the primary school students writes a letter expressing his sorrow about the animals. This letter greatly affected local administrators at the time and triggered the regeneration of the zoo. In place of the old Bursa Zoo, which received intense criticism, an area is formed where animals can feel themselves in their natural relative natural environment.

There are four basic sections of the zoo where families with children are of particular interest. We can list them as fish, mammals, birds and reptiles. The large section, dedicated to waterfowl, has a rather pleasant pond. Visitors to the zoo in Osmangazi District of Bursa also have the opportunity to do many social activities. There are numerous children's areas, jogging and walking areas, cafes and restaurants available to visitors. The zoo, which spans a huge area of 400 thousand square meters in total, has a 12-kilometer walkway. On the other hand, there is also a 1 kilometre track for cycling lovers.

The zoo is adjacent to Soğanlı Botanical Park and is considered a great chance for visitors. Because in Soğanlı Botanical Park, 150 different types of 8 thousand trees meet you. In this sense, it can be easily said that one of the largest greenl areas of Bursa is here. In addition, the Bursa Houses section on display here is a pleasant surprise for visitors. The zoo can be visited between 09.30 and 17.00. The closing time in summer is updated to 20.15.
