In Bursa, which was the capital of the first stages of the Ottoman Empire, as of the 14th century, architectural activities were given great importance. As a result of this situation, the Khans Region, which is the scene of the first examples of a rich cultural tradition, was built on a total area of 450 thousand square meters in the 14th century.

The construction of the complex, also known as the Khanlar District or Grand Bazaar, as a result of the construction work carried out in a large area, together with many new architectural works in the early Ottoman period, had a positive effect on the commercial development of the city. The Khanlar Region of Bursa, which managed to pass its name with its commercial progress along with the most important developments of the time in the history books, thus meets a lot of visitors even today.

Emir Khan, Old New Khan, Deserted Inn, Geyve Inn, Ipek Inn, Koza Inn with different names in the region, today just as hundreds of years ago, hosting many shops is designed as a complex. Today, the region is heavily visited by local and foreign tourists, especially textile products and various goods are sold.

It should be noted that the Grand Bazaar is one of the landmarks of Bursa. Sahaflar, quilters, sandıkçılar(ark makers) and many other bazaars referred by different names are almost a reflection of the traditional commercial life of today in the place where you travel hundreds of years ago, you wake up to the feeling of shopping. The Khanlar District & Grand Bazaar, which has been known to survive many negative events in the history of Bursa-including earthquakes and large fires - was rebuilt in 1960 as a multi-storey, not a single storey, unlike its original plan.
