Edirne City Museum

The City Museum, which sheds light on the culture and art history of Edirne, is located on Haji Hasan Street in the center of the city. In the museum, which began project work in 2014 and opened on May 5, 2017, the ancient city history of the city is acquired. The museum, which has a total of three floors including ground and two floors above, welcomes its visitors with a modern interior design in a historic building. On the ground floor of the museum, visual objects, including the development of the city, geographical features, plant-animal species, transportation history and districts, are exhibited. Besides these, there is a variety of expression in the museum, including sculptures, models, real historical artifacts and photographs made of wax. On the ground floor there are exhibits of different concepts including Ottoman period, hunting, natural tools, architectural structures and invasions. On the top floor, the ethnographic features of the city are examined in a wide scope. In this context, there are also separate sections such as press history, cultural history, sports history, health history, management history, where in-depth promotion of Edirne is intended. The City Museum, with its open top and a charming garden with several seating areas, is also known for its special events and exhibitions for children. Although it does not have a very large area, the City Museum, where the efficient use of space is concerned, is a very educational and enjoyable experience for those who want to get to know Edirne with all its details.
