Mezit Bey Bath in Edirne is located right next to the Old Mosque. The baths was built by Mezit Bey, who died in Wallachia. Information about the bath is revealed largely through the efforts of Nuri Peremeci. According to the information he quoted about Mezit Bey Bath, it is opened in service in 1422. In fact, a short time after the opening of the bath, Mezit Bey becomes a martyr. Cut stone and brick are used in the construction process of Mezit Bey Bath. When it was first built, it was planned as a single bath. The historical site consists of sections such as undressing, warmth and coldness. One day women take turns in the bath and one day men take service. Compared to the other Edirne baths, this is perhaps the most simple and modest one. It is difficult to talk about the details and its design. The undress part of the bath is square in shape and the ceiling part is wooden. The baths previously owned by the foundation, then it becomes a private property. Mezit Bey Bath is covered with an interesting trumped dome. As well as the Old Mosque, the Selimiye Mosque is very close to here. For this reason, after visiting the historical bath, you can also see these two important mosques. The historic Mezit Bey bathhouse, located in Meydan District, just opposite side of Orduevi, is still actively serving at this time. The bathhouse has been operated steadily from father to son for a very long time. Its internal structure has been modernized so as not to disrupt the historical texture of the bath.
