Bakırcı Mosque, built entirely of cut stone, is one of the most visited religious buildings of the city with its historical history. The mosque, built by Mustafa Aga after his death on the will of Bakirci Haji Mustafa, has been defiant for 299 years. The mosque, which is one of the most visited religious sites of Erzurum,that is one of the cities attracted attention specially with its 17th and 18th century Ottoman buildings.The mosque is one of the places where Muslims have worshipped five times in a day since 1721 because of its proximity to the center. Bakırcı Mosque loved by many people, and also has the plentiful communion. In 1902 Osman Efendi renewed the structure in accordance with its original that time was tired. One of the traditional mosque architectures of Erzurum, The Bakirci Mosque has a square plan and dome. The four classy and imposing columns holds up the last congregation standing are eye-catching. Ketencizade Rüştü Bey writes the inscription of Bakirci Mosque. Rüştü Bey, one of the most important masters of his time, dates the year of the mosque as 1720, but the completion of the construction is delayed by one year and the inscription remains as a mistake in writing of the history. In the Bakirci Mosque, which bears traces of the Ottoman-Russian War, also known as the War of 93, bullet marks that reveal the difficulties of that period affect visitors deeply.
