Narmanlı Mosque

Narmanlı Mosque is located in yakutiye district of Erzurum in eastern Turkey. It is one of the most important heritage of the city with its cultural and historical texture. Narmanlı Mosque, which was built in 1738 by Narmanlı Haci Yusuf Efendi, who was known as magnate of his period, stands out as one of the successful examples of stonework. Narmanlı Mosque; rises paralel to the triangle of the Grand Mosque, the madrasah with double minarets and Erzurum Castle. According to a rumor, in the evening, haji Yusuf, who walks with a front and back on the road illuminated by his slave with a lantern, he bumbed to a mound on the ground and fells to the ground. His slave, who returned to him, says, "Agha, the light in the back will not help anyone, everyone should take its light itself." Hacı Yusuf impresses from the saying very much, gives the part of his belongings to the poor people, he freed his slave and he had built a mosque it said that the mosque is Narmanlı Mosque. Narmanlı Mosque, which has five domes and a final congregation place at the front, stands out for its largeness. In this respect, it stands out among the mosques in the whole region.
