Sikh Kastel

Located in Gaziantep city, kastels are important because of both their historical and cultural characteristics. Standing in a special place in the city water architecture, these kastels are unique to Gaziantep. In other words, Anatolian Turkish architecture can not be found in any other city. The aim of the kastels was to meet the water needs of the people of the direction. This interesting architect uses brigades to meet the need for water in the structure. The kastels are offered to the common use of that period in town. There are Kastels from different periods in the city. Kastels as a structure are based on the principle of united doors. All kastels are connected by water channels. There are free washing areas open to all at certain locations. If it is possible to come across too many kastel examples in Gaziantep, some of them come to the fore specifically. It is possible to open a special parenthesis in this connection to Sikh Kastel. Other kastels include Ihsan Bey Kasteli, Kazakici Kasteli, Imam-I Gazali Kasteli, Kozluca Kasteli, Sikh Kastel is also sometimes referred as ' Sheikh Kasteli'. According to the official information transferred Sikh Kastel was built in 1563. This place is considered as one of the most mince complex structures in the city. Kastel is located in this complex. A small staircase leads down to kastel from the courtyard. Kastel can be descended from both directions. It is used here today to perform ablutions or to rest. There is a pool in two squares at the entrance of the kastel. There is no running water in the room today and therefore the top is open. Independent water channels are also located at this point. Sikh Kastel, located at the eastern end of the courtyard, is included in the kesteller class, which is located underground. All of the kastels located in the city are of course not underground in this way. A foot resembling the letter L is found in the exact middle section of the Kastel.
