The 19th century structure in Hatay, known as the confluence of celestial religions, is one of the most remarkable works of the city. Hatay, which has built countless civilizations and cultures in its thousands of years of history, is known in particular as the unification of three heavenly religions. The last city to join the territory of the State of the Republic of Turkey is one of the campuses where the first Christians live. One of the most magnificent buildings in the city, which has developed countless times over the years and was destroyed by massive earthquakes, is the Orthodox Church of St Paul. The construction of the church began in 1860. Completed in the first 10 years and opened to public worship, the church was destroyed by an earthquake of 7.2 richter scale on April 3, 1872. In this massive earthquake, which has killed up to 80,000 lives, the city is almost crumbled. Since aftershocks are long-term, the city cannot recover in a short time. The construction of the church begins in the late 19th century again at the site of the building, which was demolished. The Orthodox Church of St(Paul) Paul, which opened in the early 1900s, is one of the symbols of the city's resurges. With its rectangular plan, majestic bell tower and courtyard surrounded by commendations, the church is also frequented by all local and foreign tourists arriving in the city.
