Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library, named after Turkish novelist, short story writer and poet Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar and is a literature museum and archive, is located within the borders of Gülhane Park in Fatih district of Istanbul. It is very easy to reach museum library by turning left from the entrance of Gulhane Park which was brought into service under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey on 12 November 2011.
Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library is welcoming lovers of literature, culture and art in the Alay Mansion gotten built by Mahmud II. in 1810 and manages to enchant the visitors through the magnificent mansion reflecting the imperial style. After the completion of the Dolmabahçe Palace's construction, the Alay Mansion, which transferred its duty to the Pink Pavilion, served to many branches of art, including literature, since the 1910s until today.
Periodical exhibitions are also organized from time to time in today's Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library, where literary meetings were held many times from the 1920s to the 1930s and the leading literary figures of the said period gathered and laid heads together.
The Tanpınar Literature Research and Application Center, which was established on December 12, 2017, within the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, continues its research within the Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library.
The second floor of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library where can see the works of the world-famous authors from Istanbul such as Nazim Hikmet, Orhan Pamuk, Nedim, Necip Fazıl Kısakürek and Yahya Kemal Beyatlı is the fourth literature museum in this category brought into service after Adana, Diyarbakir and Ankara in Turkey.
