Bahriye Nezareti (Naval Ministry) Fountain getting its name from "Naval Ministry" that is the ministry responsible for the Ottoman Navy in the Ottoman Empire is one of the oldest fountains in Istanbul. The fountain, which was opened in 1917 and welcomes visitors to the island with all its glory, still surprises those who see it with the fact that it still looks like the first day.

Bahriye Nezareti Fountain having an excellent location in Lausanne Square, one of the most central points of Heybeliada, is built of marble and cut stone and reflects its eclectic style in general terms. The most interesting feature of Naval Ministry Fountain being a typical square fountain with three wings and reservoirs is higher and wider middle wing than side wings.

The eaves of Bahriye Nezareti Fountain, which is covered with enlarged-base dome and middle wing is emphasized more than side wings, has become apparent by giving a C curve. While the side wings are flat roofed and the lower part of the eaves is enlivened with medallions. The two volute consoles at the corners of Bahriye Nezareti Fountain are definitely worth seeing.

Lancet arched front facade with an oyster shell motif evokes admiration of every visitor; moreover, the arch stands of Bahriye Nezareti Fountain are profiled with the muqarnos group and curved inward. Composition consisting of rumi, ili and curved branch palmate add a different mood to Bahriye Nezareti Fountain, the mirror stones of this fountain are completely made of marble. In addition to the lancet arched niches and ornaments on the two side wings of the fountain, enriching clout nails are also of great interest. Bahriye Nezareti Fountain built by Naval Ministry in 1917was brought into service a great ceremony.
