Istanbul Aquarium

Located in the west of Bakirkoy, one of the districts on the European Side of Istanbul, the Istanbul Aquarium is one of the most colorful and diverse activity areas of the city.

Istanbul Aquarium, which is close to Ataturk Marine Mansion, has a total water capacity of 7 thousand cubic meters in a two-storey complex structure. This giant aquarium consists of terrestrial concept areas such as a forest and many different activity areas. The opening date of the aquarium, which started to be built in 2003, is 2011. In the aquariums with different themes, thousands of species from water turtles to colorful fishes are exhibited in water tanks. 

The Istanbul Aquarium that especially children are interested in draws attention with its different themes. In geographical concepts such as the Black Sea, the Red Sea, and Suez Canal, species-specific to those regions can be explored. On the other hand, there is not only a colorful trip to the sea and the ocean in the place where there are interesting ambiences, including a real shipwreck. Also, within the scope of themes such as Global Warming and Rainforests, rodentia, crocodiles, and many more animals as well as interesting plant and animal species can be observed.

The Istanbul Aquarium, where thousands of species can be watched with pleasure, requires you to spend 5-6 hours even because of its size. You can also reach this place, where there is a large car park for those who want to visit by car since it is a place that can be visited for such a long time, by Marmaray, bus, minibus, and taxi.
