Kaptan Ibrahim Aga Mosque

Kaptan İbrahim Ağa Mosque, an Ottoman work, is in Beşiktaş district on the European side of Istanbul.

Kaptan İbrahim Ağa Mosque was built in 1622. About 150 years later, it was defeated by time and became devastated. Thereupon, it was demolished and rebuilt in 1763 by the Ottoman grand vizier Hamid Hamza Pasha. However, the building, which needed repair over time, was finally rebuilt in 1889 during Sultan Abdulhamit II's reign.

It is possible to reach the mosque's last congregation on the street directly through a door. The first-floor windows of the mosque facing the street have iron bars. There is a repaired and well-maintained facade.

At the entrance to the mosque's bright interior, the stairs for the lower and upper floors catch the eye. You step into the main venue with the door opening from the last congregation place. The mihrab, sermon lectern and pulpit sections attract attention with their fine artistry.

The mosque, which has walls made of durable material, is covered with tiles. The stone minaret between the mosque, which has only one minaret, and the apartment next to it, is quite impressive.
