Karakoy Pier

Karaköy Pier, one of the important stops in sea voyages in Istanbul along the Marmara Sea, is located on the coastline in the Beyoğlu district of the city. The pier, which offers the opportunity to connect to Karaköy district by sea from many points, provides a much more comfortable travel experience by taking its modern form instead of the old one destroyed in 2008.

The old version of Karaköy Pier was demolished in 2008, but a feverish work is carried out at Tuzla Shipyard for a new one. The building installed in its current location in 2018 is like a modern touch to the historical texture of a cosmopolitan city like Istanbul.

The pier, which has a rectangular floating dock form, is 81 meters long and 27.6 meters wide. The structure, which weighs 2 thousand tons and a height of 3.5 meters, brings comfort while keeping its visitors on the sea. Besides, three ferries can dock at the new Karaköy Pier, which can serve a wide area. However, the ferries can load and unload passengers on the port, starboard, and seaside.

At the pier, where the effects of technological developments are felt, all transactions of the passengers can be processed without delay. Among the touristic sightseeing spots such as Sirkeci, Karaköy, Sultanahmet and other important destinations of the coastline such as Kadıköy and Üsküdar, the pier, which allows active and fast sea transportation, but where mobility is not lacking, is highly preferred with its beautiful ambiance.
