While Istanbul developed as the capital city for approximately 450 years under the domination of the Ottoman Empire, it also witnessed the works of the sultan and the dignitaries had built by taking the needs of the people into account. Mosques, madrasahs, fountains and many other public buildings all over the city were built all around the city, and shrines were also built. Thus, on a traditional basis, areas where the graves of people loved and respected by the public that could be visited were created. One of these types of structures, the Pargalı İbrahim Pasha Shrine is located in an area surrounded by fences in Canfeda Hazretleri Haziresi in Beyoğlu district.

The tomb of Pargalı İbrahim Pasha who was the Grand Vizier of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent was renovated in recent years. Therefore the surrounding walls, railings and the gate of the area and the floor was renewed. Additionally unnecessary curvatures were corrected with work done on the elevations.

The tomb, which is in very good condition today, makes it possible to commemorate the statesman Pargali Ibrahim Pasha, who was the grand vizier in the Ottoman Empire between 1523-1536, who had also built many mosques, madrasas, baths and fountains.
