The mosque, which was built by the wife of the Ottoman Naval Forces Commander, the Minister of the Navy Rasim Pasha, who also gave its name to the district, is located in the district of Kadıköy on the Anatolian Side of Istanbul. Rasim Pasha Mosque, which was completed in 1902, has the principle of repairing and expanding a small mosque that was built in the same place about 70 years ago but was ruined.

It is rumored that Rasim Pasha had never seen the mosque built in his name or the district where his name was given in 1927. The modest-sized mosque, which has existed for generations, draws attention with its wide dome. It offers an interesting visuality with its wooden roof. The walls, including the bearing elements, and the single-balcony minaret are made of fire-resistant material, namely, stone.

The interior of the corner mosque, which has a small courtyard, is reached by a ladder. The interior is bright and spacious. There are no decorations on the walls, and the altar, that is, the hollow section where the imam leads prayers in front of the congregation, is also plain. The pulpit where the Friday sermon is read and the sermon bench are made of wood. In general, it resembles a small-town mosque in the city; which is a unique, naive, and simple work
