Turkish Construction and Art Works Museum (Warehouse Museum)

Turkish Construction and Art Works Museum serves under the umbrella of the General Directorate of Foundations. Located within the borders of Istanbul Fatih, this important museum is located in a building community. There are madrasah rooms, primary school, public fountain and library in this complex. Dürgelzade Mosque in the northern part of the museum, traces of Saraçhane shops in the western part and new houses built in this area draw attention. The eastern part faces towards the foundation's land and Horhor Street. There is an inscription at the door of the library in the courtyard. According to the information written in the inscription, this place was repaired in 1755 with the efforts of Rahime Hanım. Today, this historical complex functions as the Turkish Construction and Art Works Museum.

Tombstones, wooden artifacts, monograms, stone inscriptions and many other important works await those who visit the Turkish Museum of Construction and Art Works. The museum, which has a dense collection, stands out with its content and architectural features. The museum is designed as a kind of open museum. In the garden section of the museum; The cone of the minaret, mirrors of the fountains and inscriptions are exhibited. Likewise, various tombstones and tugras are also exhibited in this area. There are tombstones of some important names such as Architect Ayas.

The Turkish Museum of Construction and Art Works presents examples of tiles belonging to very important mosques and complexes. The museum, where you can find Seljuk and early Ottoman tiles, also draws attention with its Wooden Artifacts section. There are currently more than 1500 works in the museum. The Turkish Construction and Art Works Museum can be visited between 09.00 and 16.00 every day except Sundays and Mondays. The museum remains closed for a long time due to recent restoration.
