Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque

The Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque on Yıldız Palace Road in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, which was built by Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamit II, is one of the city's prominent structures.

The rectangular planned mosque, construction of which was completed between 1885 and 1886, is located in a large area. It is designed within a rim with 16 windows and stands out for its glory. You can feel the architectural styles of the Neogatic, Greek, and Roman times are used in the interior where the gold leaves and star ornaments will catch your eyes. As the last example in which these three styles are gathered, it also takes a separate place in the literature.

The trellis made of cedar wood at the Sultan's Mahfil (the platform where muezzin makes Sultan perform prayer) section which was the hand made part by Abdulhamit II who was a master carpenter,  is also among the craftsmanship details that stand out.
