The Karanlık Evliya Tomb, located on the tomb street in Kastamonu Yavuz Selim District, draws attention with its Seljuk architectural style. The tomb is made of cut stone, octagonal, two-storey and has a pointed dome in the form of a stone cone. Due to the architecture of the tomb, which is estimated to belong to the 13th century, it is thought that one of the rulers of the Shepherds Period was buried here. It is also said among the people that the tomb belongs to a person named Dark Evliya. According to the rumors, someone who does not go out into the crowd and hides his face, used to lead prayers with a black veil on his face on Fridays, and he took the name Dark Evliya from here. Another rumor about the name of the tomb is the darkening of the stone walls after the fire. Local people believe that this shrine protects them from evil.
