Built by banker Kostaki Teophylaktos as a large programmed residence in the early 1900s (1898-1913) and located on Zeytinlik Street. The venue, which is one of the few examples of civil architecture and has a usage area of approximately 1,500 square meters, can now be visited as Trabzon museum. Although the name of the architects could not be determined, known to be Italian, many materials used in the construction of the mansion, are also known to have been brought from Italy. The mansion is fully decorated with pencil work craft. There was no pen work only in the basement. Built with such fine craftsmanship and perfectionism, the magnificent mansion changed hands in 1917. When Kostaki Teophylaktos goes bankrupt, all his assets are foreclosed and the mansion passes to the hands of the Nemlioğlu family. This historic venue, which also lived years of struggle, was used as a headquarters building for a period. Ataturk, his wife Latife Hanım and those with them rest in this mansion on 15-17 September 1924 in this magnificent place, organized for Atatürk to stop over in his first visit to Trabzon. The mansion was recently converted into a museum. While the basement is organized as a section of Archaeological Artifacts, stones, terracotta, metal and glass are exhibited in the Department of Archaeological Artifacts from the Early Bronze Period to the end of the Ottoman Period.
