Hosap Ickale Bath House
12.08.2024 23:08
Hosap Ickale Bath was brought back to light with the viewing mansion and harem as a result of the excavations.
Today, the point where Hosap Castle is located is a very strategic point for the Ottoman 17th century. Therefore, the castle was raised on top of the work of the Kingdom of Urartu (fevkani). In 1643, the bathhouse, which was built with the castle, was also opened for use.
The castle, bathhouse and viewing hill, which was uncovered by excavations in 2007 under the chairmanship of 100th Year University Faculty of Literature Assistant Professor Dr. Mehmet Top, came to light after five years of feverish work. After their research, the building was opened to cultural visitors. Although the dome of the bath, which has been standing for 377 years, has been demolished, it continues to bear the traces of the early Ottoman period architectural era.
