Hamza Bey, as it is known, served as the ambassador of Sultan Mehmet The Conqueror and was martyred at a time when he went to Romania. At that time, the impaled Voyvoda impales him. Immediately afterwards, his body is brought to Bursa. Hamzabey mosque, built in memory of this important name, is located within the borders of Bursa. The historical site was built mainly as a Masjid during the reign of Fatih Sultan. At the beginning of the 17th century, Zade Ahmet Effendi incorporated a pulpit here and after this period, the place began to be referred to as a mosque.

Hamzabey Mosque saw two major earthquakes between 1826 and 1854 and was repaired after these earthquakes. In the same way, it faces fire disasters in certain periods. The most important feature of this mosque is that it is known as the largest mosque built during the time of Fatih. Apart from the mosque, it also houses different structures, so in some sources it is a complex. Unfortunately, the madrasa and imaret areas have not reached today. Three rows of brick and one row of stone are built in the wall areas.

The window arches on the south side have an original appearance. The walls can be observed to be porcupine fringed. To get to the minaret, you have to use the door to the east of the last communion. The Hamzabey Mosque, located in the area known as the Old Bazaar, has an inscription in Arabic. There is a total of three lines of information in the inscription. Evliya Çelebi places an important place in this special Mosque of Bursa in his travelogue. Five domes are located at the som Jamaat site of Hamzabey Mosque, which is in the form of ‘inverted T’ in plan. Next to the main building, there are two relatively larger domes. The historic place of worship is still open to worship today.
