Tomb Of Osman Ghazi Bey

Osman Ghazi, the founder of the ancient Ottoman Beylic, was born in Söğüt in 1258, the first phase of the empire that would spread to four continents in the region between Bilecik and Eskisehir. Osman Ghazi, the founder of the Ottoman dynasty, died on August 1, 1326 in Söğüt, which is within the borders of today's Bilecik.

First buried in the Tomb of his father, Ertuğrul Gazi, Osman Gazi's body was moved to the city after the conquest of Bursa on his will. After the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that caused great destruction in Bursa in 1855, the mausoleum underwent extensive repair and was enlarged in 1863 according to its original plan and restored to its present state. The Tomb Of Osman Ghazi Bey, one of the symbols of Bursa, is located close to the Martyrdom Monument in Tophane district. With its spiritual significance, the shrine is a short walk from the city centre, which is a place of intense interest every month of the year.

Osman GHazi Bey Mausoleum is a round-shaped structure with arched windows, octagonal body, pulley and dome parts are striking. Embellishments, also known as Girland, are shown among other items that stand out: the velvet veil on the ark, the mother-of-pearl inlay, Arabic phrases, the crystal chandelier and the plain pencil works on the wall. Also in the shrine, another 17 crates are found, including Prosecutor Bey, son of I.Murad, Alaeddin Bey, son of Osman Bey, and Ibrahim, son of Orhan Ghazi.
