Erzurum Grand Mosque, the most important Saltuklu work in Anatolia, is one of the first examples of the multi-column 'Grand Mosque' scheme. The work, also known as the 'Atabey Mosque', was built in 1179 by The Emir of Saltuklu Nasreddin Aslan Mehmet. The first structure of the mosque, located next to the Double Minaret Madrasah, remains only its altar. The mosque, which has a flat roof in its first construction, is mentioned in the sources where it has been changed with the restoration works carried out periodly. Today's state consists of domes and vaults built on 24 stone sequins and 16 wall shares connected by pointed arches. There are five doors to enter the mosque's northern and eastern facade. In Anatolia: the architectural concept that focuses on the middle place where the altar of the grand mosques built in the 12th century and the stone decoration with geometric motifs take its place in the integrity of Turkish art. Sultan 4. The mosque, which was used as a food depot at the time of Murat, has undergone a total of five repairs so far. Erzurum Governor Huseyin Pasha repaired the mosque in 1639 and Ali Efendi in 1826. Repairs were carried out in 1858 and 1860. The mosque was last renovated by the General Directorate of Foundations between 1957 and 1964. There are a total of 40 columns inside the mosque.
