Karaköy Güllüoğlu is one of the taste stops identified with Karaköy, one of the first places that come to mind when it comes to touristic trips in Istanbul. The family, which makes a living from baklava business, continues this tradition from generation to generation but within the borders of Gaziantep. Working in this way for many years, the place begins to ship dry baklava in wooden boxes to nearby cities in the 1930s. Their products have been highly admired and became more popular, and they decided to open a small baklava shop on Karaköy in 1949. It was the first baklava shop opened outside Gaziantep. In the following years, the shop moved to the Havyar Inn in Karaköy, and in the 1970s to its current location. As soon as you step into this dessert stop, which has hosted its customers in Karaköy since then, you will be fascinated with baklava varieties.
